Legends Battlegrounds Beginner Guide
Build reliable movement, defense and combo habits before chasing long damage strings. This first-session route uses Martial Legend as the simplest starting fighter.
Legends Battlegrounds is a fast Roblox arena fighter built around light attacks, dashes, blocking, ragdoll escapes and awakening moves. Start by learning when to stop attacking: blocked pressure and a wasted evasive are two of the fastest ways to lose a fight.
Official Controls
Choose a First Fighter
2 min- Select Martial Legend for a direct, balanced kit with a counter, a guard-breaking palm strike and clear combo extenders.
- Move to Jun after you can consistently dash around blocks and track an opponent's evasive.
- Use Shinji once you are comfortable with rushdown timing, because most of his base moves can be blocked.
Drill the Core Controls
3 min- Memorize the official controls card so dash, block, evasive and awakening are always one key away.
- Perform ten dashes, ten blocks and five ragdoll cancels until they feel automatic.
- Keep one finger near Q and F so you can react to pressure the moment it starts.
Practice Movement Before Attacking
4 min- Use side dashes to change angle instead of repeatedly dashing straight into an opponent's block.
- Save the forward dash for closing distance after a knockback or catching a missed move.
- Circle at medium range and watch whether the opponent spends Q first.
Build One Defensive Rule
4 min- Hold F against predictable M1 pressure, then release block before repositioning.
- Use Q while ragdolled only when the opponent still has moves ready to extend the combo.
- After spending evasive, play farther away until it returns instead of immediately re-engaging.
Learn Two Universal Starters
5 min- Uppercut starter: 3 M1 into Uppercut into a character move keeps the target close for launch-catch options.
- Downslam starter: 3 M1 into Downslam into a ground-hitting move tests whether the opponent will spend evasive.
- Run each starter three times without mashing the next move early.
Run a First Martial Legend Route
5 min- Sequence: Forward Dash, 3 M1, Uppercut, Panther Combo, Dragon Rush, Forward Dash, 3 M1, Uppercut, Tiger Palm.
- Pause briefly after launchers so Dragon Rush and the next forward dash meet the opponent as they fall.
- If the opponent evades after Panther Combo or an uppercut, stop the route, block and punish the next approach.
Activate Awakening With a Plan
2 min- Press G only when the awakening bar is ready.
- Create space with a knockback before activating so the opponent cannot immediately pressure you.
- Use awakening to secure a fight, not as a panic button after every cooldown has been spent.
Avoid Common Beginner Mistakes
Ongoing- Forward-dashing into block: side dash, wait for a swing, then start M1s.
- Spending evasive on the first knockdown: check whether the opponent can still extend before pressing Q.
- Using every move at once: keep one move ready to punish a missed dash or failed combo.
- Repeating the same opener: alternate block pressure, side-dash M1 and a delayed counter bait.
Quick Tips
- Stop attacking into a held block and look for a side dash instead.
- Track the opponent's evasive before committing a long string.
- Keep one cooldown ready to punish a missed move.
- Practice one route until it is reliable before learning the next.
Legends Battlegrounds Tier List
The standard roster centers on Martial Legend, Jun and Shinji. The rankings below separate ease of use from maximum PvP potential.
Martial Legend is the cleanest character for learning neutral play, Jun has the highest technical combo ceiling, and Shinji specializes in mobility, multi-target pressure and Flashstep Fury resets. Matchup knowledge matters more than raw tier placement once both players can track evasive and cooldowns.
Beginner Tier List
Martial Legend
FreeThe kit is straightforward: Dragon Rush chases, Tiger Palm bypasses guard and hits ragdolled targets, Panther Combo launches, and Triple Kick Counter punishes predictable attacks.
Jun
FreeGlimpse of Power bypasses guard, Fang Dance closes distance and Virgule Cascade has multiple routes, but Jun loses value when spacing and variant timing are not controlled.
Shinji
Early AccessBody Flicker and Flashstep Fury create strong chase pressure, but most base moves are blockable and Body Flicker can send the target in an awkward direction.
Experienced PvP Tier List
Jun
FreeJun can convert one clean opening into layered pressure through Fang Dance, Wolf Fang Flash movement tech and the Glimpse of Power into Virgule Cascade variant.
Martial Legend
FreeTriple Kick Counter can interrupt committed offense, while Tiger Palm and strong wall routes keep the character dependable against passive and aggressive opponents.
Shinji
Early AccessNunchuck Flurry or Body Flicker can refresh Flashstep Fury through the reset mechanic, creating repeated pressure, but disciplined blocking limits several openers.
Legends Battlegrounds Best Combos
Use the shorter routes in live matches first, then add movement tech and reset mechanics. Every long string becomes safer after the opponent has already spent evasive.
M1 means a light attack. Uppercuts keep targets airborne, downslams test ragdoll escape timing, and side dashes help realign after launchers. Do not force the next move when the target uses Q while ragdolled; reset to block and punish instead.
M1 = light attack. Stop the route and block if the target uses evasive.
Martial Legend
Basic Launch Route
BeginnerTiming: Let the target begin falling after Panther Combo before Dragon Rush connects, then forward dash just before the Dragon Rush knockback ends.
Use: Open-space 1v1 damage with all four base moves available.
Counter Conversion
AdvancedTiming: Side dash immediately after the counter's final kick, then aim Dragon Rush at the target's landing path.
Use: Punishing predictable Fang Dance, M1 pressure or an aggressive dash.
Wall Carry Route
High DamageTiming: Start near a wall or tree and dash as Panther Combo finishes so the target reaches the wall-combo trigger.
Use: Short arenas and fights near solid map geometry.
Jun
Fang Dance Confirm
BeginnerTiming: Use the side dash to line up the forward dash after Fang Dance sends the opponent away.
Use: A stable route that teaches Jun's chase spacing.
Wolf Fang Miss Tech
AdvancedTiming: Angle slightly sideways during the flip so Wolf Fang Flash passes beside the opponent, then side dash back into M1 range.
Use: Keeping pressure without taking Wolf Fang Flash's normal knockback.
Glimpse Cascade Route
High DamageTiming: Trigger Virgule Cascade during Glimpse of Power's second section to activate the combined kick variant.
Use: Maximum conversion from a clean opening with key cooldowns ready.
Shinji
Nunchuck Knockdown Route
BeginnerTiming: Use Nunchuck Flurry while the target is down, then aim Lightning Flash as the second downslam lands.
Use: A simple route ending with Shinji's guard-bypassing base move.
Body Flicker Follow-Up
AdvancedTiming: Body Flicker can catch the brief floating state after Nunchuck Flurry, but its random roll direction means you must turn quickly.
Use: Practicing camera correction and Shinji's two-M1 limit after Body Flicker.
Flashstep Reset Route
High DamageTiming: Using Nunchuck Flurry while Flashstep Fury is unavailable refreshes it through Lightning Rage, allowing the second cast.
Use: Extended pressure that uses Shinji's signature cooldown-reset mechanic.
Legends Battlegrounds Martial Legend Guide
Martial Legend combines simple launchers, a reliable guard break and a punish counter. The character is strongest when you save one move for the opponent's evasive or missed approach.
Use Dragon Rush and Panther Combo to carry opponents, Tiger Palm to punish blocking or grounded targets, and Triple Kick Counter against committed attacks. Near walls, Panther Combo can feed directly into Martial Legend's wall sequence for efficient damage.
Base Moves
M1 Chain
StarterBest use: Stop at three M1s before an uppercut or downslam when starting a combo.
Dragon Rush
Chase and launcherBest use: Catch the opponent as they fall from Panther Combo, then dash into the landing.
Tiger Palm
Guard break and finisherBest use: End a combo, punish passive blocking or side dash behind the reduced knockback.
Panther Combo
Combo extenderBest use: Confirm after an uppercut, then delay Dragon Rush until the target begins to fall.
Triple Kick Counter
Defensive punishBest use: Read Fang Dance, an obvious forward dash or repeated M1 pressure.
System and Awakening
Draconic Instinct
PassiveBest use: Use the speed increase to side dash into Dragon Rush or force a fast M1 re-entry.
Wall Combo
Map conversionBest use: Near a wall, connect Panther Combo and dash toward the target as the launcher ends.
Dragon's Fury
Awakening activationBest use: Activate after a knockback so the opponent cannot freely pressure the startup.
Dragon Blitz
RushdownBest use: Punish a missed move or catch an opponent trying to create distance.
Dropping Fang
Vertical area attackBest use: Catch grounded targets or punish opponents grouped near the landing point.
Skyfall Bomb
Grab and slamBest use: Use after a confirmed opening rather than into block or a side dash.
Draconic Honor
Ultimate rushBest use: Aim down a clear lane after the opponent has committed their dash.
Matchups
Against Jun
Counter the combo specialistBest use: Force Jun to spend a movement tool first, then take the cleaner close-range exchange.
Against Shinji
Stop rushdownBest use: Stay patient behind block, then convert Shinji's failed rush into Panther Combo pressure.
Legends Battlegrounds Jun Guide
Learn Jun's complete base kit, move variants, wall routes and No More Games awakening. Use confirmed combos to preserve cooldowns and avoid punishable openings.
Jun is a technical close-range fighter built around confirmed rushes, special move variants and high-damage awakening sequences. His strongest routes come from landing an M1 knockdown or wall combo before committing Fang Dance, Virgule Cascade or Piercing Tempest.
Base Moves
Glimpse of Power
1Close-range starter and combo extenderUnblockableJun drives forward with a body strike, rushes through the target and finishes with a kick. The opening hit can catch multiple nearby opponents.
Best use: Confirm it after an M1 string or downslam instead of throwing it from maximum range.
Wolf Fang Flash
2Chase tool and repositioning attackFlip blockable, charged strike bypasses blockJun opens with a flipping kick and then launches a fast charged punch with an area hitbox.
Best use: Save it for chasing an evasive, extending a knockdown or returning to melee range.
Fang Dance
3High-damage confirmed rushRushing entry can break through guardJun rushes into a long martial-arts sequence that carries the opponent before launching them away.
Best use: Use it after an M1 downslam, wall stun or another confirmed hit; a missed attempt leaves Jun open.
Virgule Cascade
4Sequence finisher and variant moveBlockableJun starts with dagger strikes, teleports around the target and ends with a downward area attack. The opening knife hit must connect to trigger the full sequence.
Best use: Confirm the first hit through an M1 string, wall combo or Glimpse of Power.
Move Variants and Wall Combo
Airborne Virgule Cascade
Uppercut or wall launch, then 4Air-combo extensionBlockableUsing Virgule Cascade after an uppercut or wall launch turns it into an aerial slash sequence.
Best use: Position the opponent near a wall, finish Jun's wall combo and activate Virgule Cascade as the target is launched.
Glimpse Cascade
1, then 4 during Glimpse of PowerCombined base-move routeConfirmed through Glimpse of PowerJun transitions from Glimpse of Power into a unique martial-arts and dagger sequence instead of the standard Virgule Cascade.
Best use: Keep both moves available when preparing this route rather than spending them separately.
Jun Wall Sequence
M1 knockback beside a wallEnvironmental combo starterJun pins the opponent against the wall, follows with close strikes and finishes with an upward sword slash that launches them.
Best use: Use the launch to confirm Airborne Virgule Cascade or dash forward for continued M1 pressure.
No More Games Awakening
No More Games
G with a full meterJun awakeningJun draws his sword and replaces his base kit with four cinematic burst and counter abilities.
Best use: Activate after creating distance or knocking the opponent away so the transformation cannot be interrupted.
Savage Fangs
1 while awakenedSingle-target burstApproaching grab blockable when used rawJun opens with sword slashes and transitions into a long cinematic attack when the grab connects.
Best use: Confirm it after the opponent spends their evasive or is recovering from a knockdown.
Phantom Sever
2 while awakenedTracking slash and chaseBlockableJun rushes forward and performs a rapid displacement slash that can be redirected with its follow-up activation.
Best use: Punish movement, close distance or force defense before another awakening move.
Piercing Tempest
3 while awakenedRanged confirm into cinematic barrageOpening knives blockableJun throws a spread of knives. A successful hit causes him to teleport around the target with a multi-angle barrage.
Best use: Throw it after a knockdown, wall interaction or forced defensive action, not at a stationary blocking opponent.
One Inch Punch
4 while awakenedCounter and finisherCounter stanceJun enters a counter stance and retaliates with a powerful close-range strike when attacked.
Best use: Read a predictable dash, M1 attack or immediate retaliation. Using it during Piercing Tempest converts the sequence into a combined finisher.
Combos and Resources
Reliable Ground Combo
3 M1, downslam, Fang Dance, dash, 3 M1, Glimpse, Virgule CascadeThe downslam confirms Fang Dance, while the Glimpse-to-Virgule transition uses Jun's strongest base variant.
Tip: Track the opponent's evasive before committing the second half of the route.
Wall Variant Route
3 M1, downslam near wall, wall combo, Airborne Virgule CascadeThe wall launch creates the height needed for the airborne Virgule variant and avoids using the move as an unsafe raw opener.
Awakening Variant Route
Piercing Tempest hit, then One Inch PunchA confirmed knife hit starts Piercing Tempest and lets One Inch Punch replace its standard ending with the combined variant.
Resource Management
Neutral strategyKeep Glimpse of Power and Virgule Cascade together for their combined variant. Confirm Fang Dance before using it, preserve Wolf Fang Flash as a chase option and avoid spending all four base moves during one unconfirmed attack.
Legends Battlegrounds Shinji Guide
Master Shinji's nunchuck pressure, lightning movement and Flashstep Fury reset mechanic. Learn how his aggressive playstyle compares with Martial Legend and Jun.
Shinji is a fast pressure fighter whose base kit combines nunchuck barrages, electric movement and repeated Flashstep Fury attacks. He is available through Early Access, while the official FREE SHINJI event is scheduled to make the character publicly available on a date announced by the developers.
Access and Basics
Shinji Access
Early AccessShinji can be selected through the Early Access gamepass. The official FREE SHINJI Roblox event will mark his wider public release.
Nunchuck M1 Chain
Left ClickShinji's basic chain combines punches, a multi-hit figure-eight nunchuck swing and a spinning hook kick.
Best use: Stop at three attacks when preparing an uppercut or downslam, then confirm a special move.
Lightning Rage
PassiveWhen Flashstep Fury is unavailable, landing Nunchuck Flurry or Body Flicker can refresh it once. A separate passive meter must recharge before another reset becomes available.
Best use: Spend Flashstep Fury first, trigger the reset with another move and use the refreshed Fury to continue pressure.
Base Moves
Nunchuck Flurry
1BlockableShinji performs a rising multi-hit nunchuck barrage followed by a downward strike. It can catch grounded targets and multiple nearby opponents.
Best use: Confirm it after a downslam and use it to activate Lightning Rage's Flashstep Fury refresh.
Body Flicker
2BlockableShinji crouches before dashing through nearby targets with electricity and displacing them to a new position.
Best use: Use it as a pressure reset or group attack after forcing the opponent to stop blocking.
Risk: A missed dash or awkward landing can leave Shinji open to punishment.
Lightning Flash
3Bypasses blockShinji launches the target, disappears through a sequence of flash-step kicks and finishes with a powerful dropkick.
Best use: Shinji's main answer to blocking opponents or as a grounded-target punish.
Flashstep Fury
4BlockableShinji rapidly circles the target with a multi-hit electric barrage. It can strike grounded opponents and several enemies in the area.
Best use: Spend it early in a confirmed route, then refresh it through Lightning Rage for a second use.
Wall Combo and Awakening
Electric Wall Sequence
M1 knockback beside a wallShinji pins the opponent, delivers a rapid electric punch sequence and ends with a spinning kick.
Best use: Follow the wall sequence with Lightning Flash for a stable hit or Body Flicker to continue pressure.
Warrior's Grief
G with a full meterAwakeningShinji releases an electric wave during his transformation and gains large-scale lightning attacks for burst damage and team fights.
Best use: The activation wave can interrupt nearby opponents and create space for the first awakening move.
Iron Onslaught
1 while awakenedShinji lunges forward and starts a long single-target nunchuck and lightning sequence when the opening attack connects.
Best use: Confirm it after a stun, knockdown or evasive use.
Lightning Rampage
2 while awakenedShinji charges an electric shockwave, rushes through the target in a zigzag pattern and finishes with an aerial barrage.
Best use: Use the charge after creating distance or when several opponents are already recovering.
Draco Meteor
3 while awakenedShinji launches into the air with an electric dragon effect, selects a landing point and crashes down with a large area explosion.
Best use: Aim the direct impact at grouped or knocked-down opponents for stronger damage than the outer blast.
Combo Routes
Flashstep Reset Loop
Front dash, 3 M1, downslam, Flashstep Fury, downslam, Nunchuck Flurry, refreshed Flashstep Fury, Lightning FlashThis route spends Flashstep Fury before Nunchuck Flurry activates Lightning Rage and restores Fury for another pressure sequence.
Safer Confirm Route
3 M1, downslam, Nunchuck Flurry, track landing, Lightning FlashA shorter route that preserves Flashstep Fury as a chase tool in case the opponent escapes.
Wall Pressure Route
M1 knockback, wall combo, Lightning Flash, dash chaseThe wall sequence stabilizes Lightning Flash and leaves Shinji close enough to chase the target's landing.
Matchups and Strategy
Shinji vs Martial Legend
MatchupShinji brings faster chase, stronger multi-target pressure and repeatable Flashstep Fury offense, while Martial Legend has more stable counter-based control.
Choose Shinji for aggressive movement and team-fight pressure.
Shinji vs Jun
MatchupShinji offers more mobility and faster pressure resets, while Jun has more unblockable options, confirmed move variants and stronger cinematic burst routes.
Choose Shinji for constant pressure; choose Jun for technical confirms and punish damage.
Pressure Without Overcommitting
StrategyMost of Shinji's base specials can be blocked, so alternate dash pressure, M1 attacks and Lightning Flash instead of using every ability in sequence. Preserve either Body Flicker or Flashstep Fury to chase an evasive.
